We’re excited to share that the UFCW Local 1D Major Medical Plan for both 1D and 2D members is moving to the Anthem BlueCross BlueShield network starting April 1, 2025.

  • What does this mean for you?
  • No changes to your current copays or benefits — your plan stays the same.
  • You now get broader access to doctors and hospitals locally and nationwide through the Anthem network.

Extra Savings with Northwell Providers

As an added benefit, if you use a provider in the Northwell Direct Network, your copays will be reduced by 50% – meaning lower out-of-pocket costs for you and savings for the Fund.

The Northwell Direct Network includes:

  • Over 34,000 providers across the NY Metro area
  • 150+ Urgent Care centers
  • 50+ Ambulatory Surgery Centers
  • 62 hospitals, including Northwell Health, Maimonides, Hudson Regional, and RWJ Barnabas Health (NJ)
